The Gold Coast Platinum Yacht Management team includes highly trained, professional staff available for commercial operations and private charters . Our skippers and deckhands have AMSA domestic qualifications and are highly skilled professionals. Our hostess and cooks are experienced boaties with a strong ability to manage the inside of a vessel while assisting on the deck where needed.

COMMERCIAL CREWING

Our skippers and deck crew have AMSA domestic qualifications. They are available for crew placement and can second for long and short periods of time.

Our highly trained crew are available for marine support on commercial vessels engaged in:

– cargo operations;

– transportation;

– scientific research;

– project logistics;

– salvage operations;

– commercial diving;

– and more.

PRIVATE CHARTER CREWING

Our skippers and deck crew have AMSA domestic qualifications. They are highly trained, personable marine professionals with years experience working in the private luxury sector, for the rich and famous on some occasions.

Our deckhands hold commercial skipper and/or recreational boat licences and have exceptional experience crewing on a range of vessels and fishing charters.

Our hostess crew can assist in the galley preparing and serving food and/or beverages. They keep the vessel interior clean and tidy while on charter and can assist with working the deck, anchoring, tying ropes or driving tenders.

Heidi van Woerden - SKIPPER, Master < 24 m, Marine Engine Driver 3

Heidi is a director at PYM. She has a Master Class 5 skipper licence, marine engine driver 3 and bachelors degree in marine environmental science and chemistry. 

Heidi has spent the past 15 years driving a range of vessels including private luxury vessels (15 – 24 m), maxi racing yachts (20 – 24 m), passenger ferries (15 – 22 m), science research vessels (6 – 2 m), maritime training vessels and personal water craft (PWC). 

Heidi has managed many commercial and private vessels during this time, organising and completing maintenance, exterior care, minor refits and slipping works. 

Alexander Hunt - SKIPPER. Master < 24 m, MED 2

Alex was lucky enough to grow up in Hervey Bay with Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Straights on his doorstep. Alex’s journey in the marine industry began as a SCUBA instructor gaining amazing teaching and leadership experience. He worked on the Great Barrier Reef on fishing vessels and eco tour vessels in WA while swimming with whale sharks. 

Following this, Alex embarked on a global adventure working onboard a 88m private motor yacht which chartered through French Polynesia, New Zealand, South America and Antarctica. 

Alex worked as Vessel Master of MV Warrego, a utility vessel conducting various contracts in the oil and gas industry around Australia.  Alex floats between short and long term placement roles offering marine support where needed.

With Alex’s knowledge and unique experiences he brings great value to the PYM team.

Zac Hunt -SKIPPER, master <24m
Marine engine driver 3

Zac is a Master Class 5 skipper and Marine Engine Driver 3. He has operated vessels up to 22m for over fifteen years including dive, game fishing and private luxury charter vessels. He is also a dive instructor. 

Zac has substantial bar crossing and boat delivery experience. He has coordinated full refits and repowered his own vessels for commercial operations. Zac has a certificate 4 in Training and Assessment and works in the maritime training industry in between driving luxury private vessels for PYM.

Anthony Ryan -SKIPPER, Coxswain Grade 1 (<12 m)

Anthony Ryan has been involved in boating for over 45 years and is a Coxswain Grade 1 (<12 m) commercial skipper. He grew up on the Gold Coast waters and was a junior sailing champion while working as a catamaran hire supervisor in his youth. His experience on both recreational and commercial vessels includes, skippering, deck crew and working as assistant engineer. 

Anthony has worked on varying vessels and sizes including; displacement monohulls and catamarans (single and twin screw – 6 m to 30 m), PWC, rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), speedboats and sailing yachts up to 14 m.

Anthony has worked as a marine studies teacher, boat and jet ski licence trainer and trainer and assessor of rescue water craft (rescue PWC in the surf zone) and rescue RIBs, for Surf Life Saving, Queensland in his previous employment.

Paul Curtis - DECKHAND, Master < 24 m

Paul is a Master Class 5 skipper and experienced deckhand. Paul’s has worked on private and commercial vessels for the past seven years in commercial operations, private charter and the scuba diving industry. 

Paul comes from a marine and construction background, he specialising in crane lifts, dogging, rigging and is a trainer and assessor for these qualifications. 

Paul is an extremely hard worker with a relaxed and friendly attitude.

Deckhand

JAMES SKWARKO - CARPENTRY, MARINE DETAILER, DECKHAND

James started his marine career working offshore on commercial fishing long liners as a deckhand. He is a qualified carpenter and applied these skills while facilitating vessel interior refits. 

James specialises in sanding, woodwork, carpentry and varnishing. He is also PYM’s shipyard marine detailer. James is hardworking, efficient with a keen eye for detail, he’s a super friendly and happy bloke.

Renae Scown

RENAE SCOWN -
cert II in maritime operations coxswaiN(<12M) HEAD HOSTESS

Renae is a PYM director, head hostess and crew coordinator. Renae Scown started her boating career abroad sailing throughout the Pacific Islands. She has completed her Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade I NC). She has excellent experience driving the tenders of luxury private vessels, RIBs and PWCs.

Renae has over twenty years experience in human resources management, procurement, interior decorating and care, colour consulting and executive management. 

Renae’s experience in organising, planning and her exceptional eye for detail ensure our clients can step strait on their boat and head out to sea.

Olivia sage -
stewardess

Olivia is highly experience yacht stewardess / attendant. She has worked in the marine industry as a stewardess for several years on various superyachts up to 75 metres. Olivia has a current RSA, First Aid certificate and STCW95 qualification.

Olivia is a well presented, professional and motivated crew member. She is friendly, has a great sense of humour and is available for charter. 

Eva constandinou - stewardess

Eva is a highly skilled yacht stewardess. She has worked in the marine industry as a stewardess for several years on various luxury superyachts. Eva has a current First Aid certificate, STCW95, superyacht deck crew, AMSA general purpose hand and super yacht professional interior qualifications.

Eva is a well presented, customer focused crew member with an exceptional eye for detail. She is friendly, has a can-do attitude and is available for charter.

Amber Walker - provisions and meal planner

Amber has worked with PYM for several years. Amber has worked in maritime for over fifteen years starting out in the Northern Territory. She has worked in the charter and fishing industry. Amber owned and operated a large commercial fishing company in the Northern Territory. Amber knows all the ins and outs of spending lengthy periods at sea from personal experience. This makes it easy for her to provision and plan for our clients while providing tasty, five star and healthy options.

Not only is Amber a maritime worker at heart, she is a personal trainer and meal planner to the most famous movie stars, a fitness adviser and model and is studying bachelor of laws.
